Q: Software?

A:

drawing program/brushes:

Almost exclusively IbisPaint. The main brushes I use are "Genius Pen" and "Soft School Pen (bleed)". As for traditional art, I use Sakura Gelly Roll pens, Crayola Supertips, and Ohuhu Honolulu markers. I usually use SoHo Mixed Media paper, but will use X-Press It Blending Card with the Ohuhu markers. The artwork for The Rabbit That Lives was all drawn in TuxPaint.

game engine:

Ren'Py for most of my visual novels, but sometimes I will use other engines such as Decker (or occasionally I'll just build the games entirely from scratch.) I also know how to use GameMaker, and plan to use it for some future projects.

audio workspace:

LMMS.io, with a bunch of .sf2 files. The three soundfonts that I use most frequently are Touhou, the SGM soundfont (Toby Fox uses it), and PC-98, but I also use other ones. If you're interested in where any particular instrument in a song came from, you can just ask.

Q: Game word counts?

Q: Can I use your art/music for [thing]?

A:

Yes; just don't claim you originally made it. Please provide credit in the description or something similar, where people viewing can easily find it.

However, please do not use any elements of my works for the following ("elements" includes fan-made content of my works):

• promoting/spreading any hateful/harmful rhetoric and/or acts
• creating a monetized brand image/merchandise (e.g. using something I originally made as a logo or other form of branding, or selling merchandise of my own original work. you can sell work with fanart on it at in-person events, but i would prefer if you did not sell them on online storefronts)
• creating pornographic content (...I'm sure I don't need to explain why...though i would also prefer if you didnt do this even with characters who are 18+)

Additionially, please respect my wishes if I tell you to stop using my work for something, for whatever reason that may be, even if it's being used in a manner that I typically allow or did not explicitly cover on this page. If in doubt, just ask me.

Q: Can I make video/streamed content with your games? Can I monetize it?

A:

Yes and yes. Just please say what you're playing and credit me as the creator, of course.

Q: Correct pronouns for Adair, Rowan, etc.?

A:

You can use any of the pronouns used for any of them in-game, and that's fine. None of the pronouns ever used for any characters in-game are pronouns they are uncomfortable with; this includes all trans characters, as well. Although, in terms of specific preference for pronouns, you can pay mind to the pronouns used for that character in narration that takes place when the story is shown from that specific character's POV. I will also include pronouns for everyone when I create the character info pages for this website.

Q: Is [character] autistic?/Does Ximun have DID? etc.

A:

I'm gonna be so real with you. I think you could make a fair argument for why literally almost any character in HFV is autistic at this point. But that aside, I just kinda write the characters to be neurodivergent in whatever ways I feel like are fitting for them, without particularly caring about or paying attention to any diagnostic criteria. Also, as for Ximun and DID, he actually does not want to be diagnosed with DID, because he does not consider his condition to be a "disorder."

Q: Why "transsexual" and not "transgender"?

A:

"Transgender" would be anachronistic.

Q: Do you have an email address for me to send questions/inquiries to?

A:

I will do my best to read all the emails i get, but I might not respond to all of them, especially if your email does not contain a question (or if it contains a question that has already been answered here.) Also, I do not ever plan to work with a publisher for my games, so emails regarding the subject will also not receive a response.

Q: Can i give you money????!??!?!?!!?!?

A:

Some of my games on itch.io are pay-what-you-want, and you can choose to donate however much you want to me through those. I am also trying to set up a ko-fi, but have been encountering some, uh...interesting problems. I'll figure it out.

Q: WTF is with the crazy fast turnover time on some of these releases?!

A:

I'm disabled and usually have nothing better to do (not much more i CAN do either, since i have to sit still/lay down a lot of the time...)
